Gorillas ready for busy weekend

AMARILLO, TX – It's a big weekend of hockey at the Bank One Jungle beginning tomorrow night.

The Amarillo Gorillas look to get back in the win column on home ice when they host the Wichita Thunder at 7 p.m. It's Texas Lottery Night and fans will be given numbers when they enter the Civic Center and watch the race during the first intermission. If their number wins then they win a Texas Lottery scratch ticket.

This is the second visit by the Thunder this season and the Gorillas have taken the last two meetings at Kansas Coliseum. The Gorillas lead the Southwest Division by just a single point over the San Angelo Saints, while the Thunder is in a battle for their playoff lives against in the Northern Conference with four other teams.

Fans can bring their radio headsets to the Bank One Jungle and tune into the game live on Hot 99.7 FM beginning with the pre-game show at 6:40 p.m. with the voice of the Gorillas Denis J. Puska. The play-by-play action follows at 7 p.m. The game can also be seen live on CHLTV and heard on www.amarillogorillas.com, and fans should consult (www.chltv.com) for system requirements and pricing information.

On Saturday night the Central Hockey League leading and one of the top teams in all of Double ‘A' hockey the Laredo Bucks visit the Jungle also at 7 p.m. It's Amigo Broadcasting and American Pride Night and the Gorillas will wear their exciting American Jerseys with an auction to follow in the Ape Escape after the game.

Military, police, paramedics and firefighters who show their ID at the Civic Center Box Office or the Gorillas Hockey Office get their tickets for just $7.

The Gorillas and the Bucks have already met once this season with Amarillo winning a thriller 3-2 in a shootout in November.

Fans are also encouraged to bring their radio headsets to the game and listen to all of the action beginning with Gorillas Game Night at 6:40 pm followed by the play by play story at 7 p.m. The game is also available on chltv and at www.amarillogorillas.com.
