Gorillas launch Silver Dollar Tour

Amarillo, TX 10/14/08 - The Amarillo Gorillas officially announced Tuesday the launch of their revolutionary 'Silver Dollar Tour' for the upcoming 2008-09 season.
The 'Silver Dollar'-a 2003 100th Anniversary Harley-Davidson Road King-is owned by Randy Sanders, and will be given away near the conclusion of the CHL regular season. A sought-after collector's item, the bike has less than 50 actual miles, is a special 'Gold Key' edition, and has an appraised auction value of over $40,000.
Fans can participate in the Silver Dollar Tour by purchasing passports at Amarillo Gorillas games, the Gorillas front office, or at Silver Dollar appearances over the next six months. Each passport is $50, and guarantees at least one entry into the drawing. Fans can earn additional entries by visiting Silver Dollar Tour sponsors in the Texas Panhandle, and getting stamps or signatures from the sponsors on the passport.
In this one-of-a-kind promotion, 25 drawings will be held during different home games throughout the season. The winner of each drawing will receive prizes such as leather jackets and other assorted items from participating merchants. In addition, the 25 drawing winners will be placed in the final drawing for the Silver Dollar, to be held on Friday, March 13 when the Gorillas play the Laredo Bucks at the Amarillo Civic Center.
The first drawing will be held at the Gorillas' home opener against New Mexico on Saturday, Ocotober 18. Tickets for the game are still available, and can be purchased by calling (806) 242-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Gorillas ticketing office at 901 S. Buchanan in Amarillo. The Silver Dollar will be on display at all Gorillas home games and at participating area merchants during the 2008-09 hockey season.
