RiverKings Release Three From Camp Roster

Southaven, MS - After a weekend exhibition split of a pair of games with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, the Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have announced that three players have been released from the team's training camp roster. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski announced the players released were Jozef Kubaliak, Dan Stastny, and Mike Stevens.

Kubaliak, a defenseman, played in last Friday's (October 10th) 3-1 RiverKings' victory over the Mudbugs, did not factor in the scoring, but collected 13 penalty minutes.

Stevens, a forward, also failed to contribute in points during Friday's contest, but was a plus-1 with one shot on net during the exhibition contest.

Stastny, another forward, also did not factor in the scoring during Friday's win, taking two shots on goal.

After Friday's victory over the Mudbugs, Bossier-Shreveport shut out the RiverKings 5-0 in the team's final pre-season tuneup on Saturday night, October 11th.

The RiverKings must get the team roster down to the league minimum of 18 by Thursday, October 16th.

The Mississippi RiverKings begin their 17th season of hockey in the Mid-South this Friday night in their regular season home opener against the Wichita Thunder, presented by Cellular South. Game time is 7:05 PM at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven. Single-game tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the DCC Box Office.
