Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Oklahoma City, OK - Albuquerque jumped out to a three-run advantage by the top of the fifth before the Dodgers plated six runs over the next two frames. However, the Isotopes exploded for six runs of their own in the seventh frame, including a three-run homer by Hunter Goodman, to take game one, 9-6, over Oklahoma City at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Tuesday night.

Topes Scope: - The Isotopes combined for seven stolen bases on the night-four by Wynton Bernard and one each from Sean Bouchard, Connor Kasier and Jimmy Herron-the second-most swipes in a game in franchise history (most: 8, June 26, 2003 at New Orleans). Albuquerque had stolen six bases twice this season (July 3 vs. El Paso and Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas).

-Bernard's four stolen bases tied the club record for most in a contest (also: Reggie Abercrombie, May 6, 2007 vs. Memphis) while also establishing a new career standard. Additionally, he connected on his 22nd multi-hit effort, his fifth-straight and fifth three-hit game in his 39th game, 37th start, with the club.

-Goodman registered his second two homer game in 12 contests (also: Aug. 13 at Round Rock) and the ninth overall by an Isotope this year. He has seven longballs for the club while tallying 32 for the season, the second-most in all of MiLB. He also drove in four runs, the third time he has collected four-plus runs with Albuquerque, one off his season-high with the club (high: Aug. 13 at Round Rock). Goodman's first homer left the bat at 109.4 MPH while his second at 111.5, his third and first highest exit velocities, respectively, since joining the club. He has recorded 16 batted balls with a 100 MPH exit velocity or higher while setting new season standards in each of his last two contests.

-Bouchard tied a franchise record with four walks on the night, the 11th time an Isotopes has accomplished the feat and third time in 2023 (also: Coco Montes, July 6 at Oklahoma City and Hunter Stovall, May 3 vs. Sugar Land).

-Coco Montes went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI to extend his hitting streak to eight games (13x34). During the stretch he is slashing .382/.417/.647 with three doubles, two homers, seven RBI and four multi-hit contests.

-The Isotopes move to 13-9 in series openers and 5-4 in the second half while claiming two-straight. It's also the clubs second opening game win against the Dodgers in three tries.

-Albuquerque has won three-straight contests for the fourth time this year, third time in the second and first since claiming four triumphs from July 5-8, also against Oklahoma City.

-The Isotopes plated six runs in the seventh inning, the 10th time the club has scored six tallies in a frame and two off the season-high set twice.

-Albuquerque has won five of its last six games over Oklahoma City.

-The Isotopes improve to 12-55 when being outhit by their opponent.

-The nine combined nine RBI for the club is the most since Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas when they recorded 17 as a team.

-Albuquerque grounded into three double plays on the night, tied for the second-most in a contest this season (six times).

-The offense left just four men on base tonight and a combined 10 over the last three games, the fewest in any three-game stretch this season.

-On the bump, the Isotopes relented just one extra-base hit for the 13th time in 2023. They also issued just two walks for the second-straight game.

On Deck: The Isotopes and Dodgers square-off for game two Wednesday at 6:05 pm MT at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Albuquerque has yet to name a starter while Oklahoma City is expected to send Mike Montgomery to the hill.
