Mauro Gomez delivered a clutch, two out, two run double in the bottom of the eighth on Thursday afternoon, lifting the PawSox to a 7-6 win over Rochester. Gomez leads the team with 31 RBI. He had two hits for the day. Tony Thomas also had a pair of runs batted in for the PawSox.
Brandon Duckworth worked 5 innings but didn't figure in the decision. The win went to Will Inman (1-0) and the save to Mark Melancon (3) as the first place PawSox improved to 22-13.
The homestand continues on Friday as Columbus comes to town for a 7:05 p.m. game. Chris Seddon faces Doug Mathis.
