Rockford RiverHawks News Release
LOVES PARK, Ill. - On Monday the Rockford RiverHawks placed left-handed pitcher Fabian Gomez back on the disabled list and activated right-handed pitcher Jose Mateo. Pitcher Rob Neigebauer was released.
Gomez (1-2, 5.14) is on the disabled list for the second time this season. This time he has blisters on his throwing hand. His previous trip was the result of a broken left ring finger. Gomez appeared in four games since his first trip to the DL. His most recent outing was his only one as a starting pitcher this season. In that venture he lasted 3 1/3 innings, yielding two earned runs and four hits.
Mateo (0-0, 4.50) is a reliever back from forearm tendonitis. He made six appearances prior to his trip to the DL.
Neigebauer (0-3, 4.25) began the year as a starting pitcher, but was moved to the bullpen. In six appearances, Neigebauer went 29 2/3 innings, walked 21 batters, and struck out 22.
