
Goldeneyes Blowout Fielders 14-3

A day after touching a low point in their season, the Winnipeg Goldeyes found themselves on the sunny side of a blowout.
The Goldeyes pounded out 19 hits in a 14-3 thrashing of the Lake County Fielders at Canwest Park Monday night before 5,085 spectators.
With the game tied 1-1, Winnipeg mowed down the corn field with six runs in the fifth inning and six more in the sixth inning. Winnipeg did it with a combined 11 hits over the two innings. The exclaimation point came when Vince Harrison hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to give Winnipeg a 13-1 advantage.
The Goldeyes offensive exploits was led by first baseman Luis Alen, who went five-for-five with three RBI and a run scored.
Goldeyes starting pitcher Antony Bello went a season-high 7.2 innings for the win. He only allowed a single run and just five hits. It's Bello's second win of the season.
Alec Lewis takes the loss for Lake County.

a.. The Fish broke a three-game losing streak against Lake County and four-game losing streak at home with the victory. b.. Winnipeg returns to .500 with the win. c.. The Goldeyes batted around their order in the fifth and sixth innings. d.. The 14 runs and 19 hits Winnipeg dished out are season highs in both categories. e.. The home run Aharon Eggleston hit in the first inning is his first of the season. He is the last member of the Goldeyes to hit a home run this season. f.. Juan Diaz struck out three times, increasing his season total to 53. g.. Five Goldeyes had multi-hit games and four members of the Fish had multi-RBI nights.
