May 5, 2025 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Golden State Valkyries News Release
SAN FRANCISCO - Golden State, formerly known as GSW Sports LLC, has been unveiled as the corporate rebrand that encompasses the Golden State Warriors, Golden State Valkyries, Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State Entertainment, Thrive City, Chase Center and other assets. In addition, the organization has rebranded the Golden State app (formerly the Warriors + Chase Center app), Golden State Community Foundation (formerly Warriors Community Foundation), Golden State Shop (formerly Warriors Shop) and Golden State Sports Academy (formerly Warriors Basketball Academy) as each division expands with the launch of the Valkyries inaugural season.
"This rebrand is the natural next step in our continued business evolution from a sports franchise to a sports and entertainment company," said Golden State Co-Executive Chairman and CEO Joe Lacob. "With the launch of the Golden State Valkyries this season and the growing recognition around Chase Center, Thrive City and our other exciting entities, including the Warriors, now is the perfect time to tie all of this together under one umbrella."
Beginning today, the updated Golden State app will feature information and resources for the Golden State Warriors, Golden State Valkyries, Thrive City and Chase Center, including schedules, tickets, player stats, upcoming events and more.
The Golden State Community Foundation will continue to support education and youth development throughout the Bay Area with expanded efforts across the Warriors and Valkyries audiences. As part of the rebrand, both the Golden State Community Foundation and Generation Thrive have unveiled updated logos. To learn more, visit goldenstate.com/foundation.
Golden State Shop locations at Chase Center and Thrive City will offer merchandise across both the Warriors and Valkyries brands. In the coming weeks, new signage reflecting the Golden State Shop logo and cobranded graphics will be installed throughout the property. Fans looking to purchase gear online can continue to do so through shop.warriors.com or shop.valkyries.com. To learn more, visit goldenstate.com/shop.
Golden State Sports Academy, powered by Rakuten, will now encompass both Warriors and Valkyries within Golden State Basketball Camp as well as Junior Golden State (formerly Junior Warriors) programming across the Bay Area. In addition, Valkyries Basketball Camp will be offered in Sacramento and the Central Valley. Beginning this summer, campers will see refreshed logos, updated social media handles, and new gear that incorporates both Warriors and Valkyries branding. To learn more, visit gssportsacademy.com.
The Golden State icon features a bridge-a unifying symbol of the collective brands across the enterprise-and is accompanied by a versatile wordmark, while the neutral color palette includes black, white and gold that can be seen across the portfolio of brands.
