Florence, Kentucky: Riding recent success, the Freedom were looking to continue their winning streak with a win over struggling Windy City. They got just what the doctor ordered, beating the T-Bolts in front of 1,615 fans at Champion Window Field.

The Freedom wasted no time jumping out in front, when Greg Stone hammered the Preston Simms offering into the Freedom bullpen to lead off the Freedom half of the first. In the fifth, with the tying run on third, Stone made a spectacular diving catch to rob a line drive, that saved a run. In the bottom of the fifth, the Freedom blew the door open. Chris Brown singled in Josh Sanchez after Josh doubled. Greg Buscher then drove in Brown. The Freedom led 3-2 after five. In the sixth, Florence extended their lead on a Chris Brown RBI single that drove in catcher Clint Chauncey. Greg Buscher followed that up with an RBI single driving in Wally Quigg. Mitch Goins (2-1 2.38 ERA) pitched a solid six innings, only giving up two unearned runs on four hits, striking out two. Jon Troop came in for his first save as a Freedom player, and Florence comes out on top, 5-4.

The Freedom look for the sweep tonight at Champion Window Field, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05, gates at CWF open at 6:00. Luke Adkins is set to go for Florence on McDonalds Monday.
