
Grizzlies drop series to Paints

The Chillicothe Paints (14-4) took the finale of a three-game set with the Gateway Grizzlies (9-9). The Paints dropped the Grizzlies 7-1 Monday night in front of 3,679 at GCS Ballpark. The Grizzlies finished 3-3 on the home stand.
Taylor Johnson accounted for the only scoring for the Grizzlies. Johnson homered to lead off the second inning. He was 3-4 for the night. Kevin House was the only Grizzlie with more than a single hit. He was 2-5 with a stolen base.
Nathan Roush (1-2) started and suffered the loss for the Grizzlies. Roush went 6 2/3 innings. He gave up all seven runs, six earned, on nine hits. He struck out three. Scott Nicholson, appearing for the first time out of the bullpen, tossed 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out four and did not allow a hit.
The Grizzlies hit the road for the their longest road trip so far this season. They will play the first of a three-game series in suburban Chicago Tuesday night. Game time against the ThunderBolts is 7:05 p.m.
