Bowling Green, KY - Tyler Goeddel's third inning, three-run home run lifted the Bowling Green Hot Rods (5-4, 43-36) to a 4-3 win over the Lansing Lugnuts (4-5, 51-27) on Saturday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. The win in the series finale secures the Hot Rods third straight series victory over the Eastern Division First Half Champions. Jeff Malm and Taylor Motter also contributed with three-hit nights at the plate.

Bowling Green's offense picked up where it left off on Friday night in Saturday's bottom of the third inning. Cameron Seitzer walked and Taylor Motter singled on a bunt to begin the inning, setting the table for Goeddel. After falling behind in the count early, Goeddel battled back and drilled a 3-2 pitch for a three-run home run just to the left of the "batter's eye" in centerfield. Goeddel's first home run since May 23 put the Hot Rods ahead 3-0, and Drew Vettleson added an RBI single later in the frame to extend the lead to 4-0.

That was all the offense the Hot Rods needed on Saturday night as Bowling Green's bullpen kept the Lugnuts at bay in the one-run victory. Relievers Andrew Bellatti, Charlie Cononie, and Austin Hubbard each allowed one run but played big roles in the win. Bellatti was credited with his second win, Cononie grabbed his first hold, and Hubbard earned his ninth save.
