FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Monday, May 11, 2009) - It was announced today that FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala will miss the next four-to-six weeks after an MRI revealed bone bruising in the same left knee for which Sala underwent meniscus surgery in March.
Sala started the season-opener versus Chicago, but missed the next four games following surgery. He returned to the field on April 25 at Chivas USA, a game in which he received a red card for handling the ball outside of the penalty box, forcing him to sit out the following week's match. The Argentine would then miss the May 9 game against Houston due to experiencing pain in his knee.
Last season, the 34-year-old posted a career-high seven shutouts and matched his career-best of 28 starts. Sala's 18 career shutouts are good for second in Dallas history behind Matt Jordan, who has 30.
