D.C. United News Release
WASHINGTON - Goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra will have a microdiscectomy on Friday. Spine specialist Dr. Seyed Babak Kalantar of MedStar will perform the surgery, and Dykstra is projected to return to the field in 10-12 weeks.
United currently have four goalkeepers on the roster. Second-year goalkeeper Travis Worra started his first MLS match in United's 0-0 draw against the New England Revolution, while Bill Hamid remains on the sidelines following his own surgery earlier this year. Charlie Horton, who most recently played for Leeds United F.C. of the English Championship (second division), was signed in early March.
United face the Colorado Rapids Sunday, March 20 at 5 PM in their home opener at RFK Stadium. The Black-and-Red then will remain in Washington to host FC Dallas Saturday, March 26.
