DULUTH, GA -After a season-worst 7-1 loss to Greenville Thursday night on the road, the Gladiators returned home Sunday with revenge on their minds at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on the last Sing for Santa night of the season.

Instead of revenge, all they found was another tough loss to a division rival, as Greenville cruised to a 5-1 win.

The Road Warriors first goal came at the 9:38 mark in the first period from Brendan Connolly, his thirteenth goal of the season. It remained 1-0 through the end of the period although the Gladiators out-shot the Warriors 12-4 and Danick Paquette energized the crowd with a scrap with Warriors forward Chris Chappell.

Mark Voakes increased the lead to two at 5:59, and Greenville extended their lead after a five-minute major was issued to Paquette for boarding. On the ensuing powerplay defensemen Blake Parlett tacked on another goal halfway through the period at the 10:46 mark, and Brandon Wong pushed the lead to four with another powerplay tally.

This is the second game in a row where the Road Warriors scored three powerplay goals against Gwinnett.

Tim Miller got the Glads on the board at the 16:26 mark, his fifth tally of the season, but Greenville added a third period goal from Voakes to cap a 5-1 Greenville win. Voakes finished the night with two goals.

The Gladiators fell to 12-7-0-4 and the Road Warriors improved to 16-5-1-0.

The Glads head to Johnstown, PA Friday night to face the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30.
