Gladiators Schedule Altered
August 21, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced six changes to their 2006-07 schedule following the release of the National Basketball Association schedule which affected the availability of Charlotte Bobcats Arena, home of the Checkers of the ECHL and the Bobcats of the NBA.
The Gladiators home dates did not change, but the Gladiators swapped opponents on two pairs of games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Gladiators will now host the Texas Wildcatters on Saturday, November 4th at 7:35 p.m. instead of South Carolina while the Stingrays will visit the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Friday, April 6th at 7:35 p.m. when the Gladiators were originally scheduled to face the Texas Wildcatters.
The other change affecting the Gladiators home schedule sees the Augusta Lynx and Texas Wildcatters swap dates at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Monday, November 6th and Monday, January 15th. Augusta will now visit the Arena at Gwinnett Center on November 6th for a 7:05 p.m. tilt while the Wildcatters will take on the Gladiators on January 15th at 12:30 p.m.
Four road games were moved due to the schedule changes. Two games against Charlotte and one each against Augusta and Columbia have been rescheduled.
Gwinnett will now face the Lynx in Augusta on the second day of the season on Saturday, October 21st at 7:05 p.m. moving the game from its originally scheduled Saturday match up on March 3rd.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 6th at 7:05 p.m., the Columbia Inferno will now host the Gladiators on Thursday, March 8th at 7:05 p.m.
Both of the Gladiators road games at Charlotte that were rescheduled are in March. The Gladiators road game at Charlotte originally scheduled for Friday, March 9th is now set for Sunday, March 11th at 4:05 p.m. The Checkers will now host the Gladiators one day earlier on March 13th as opposed to March 14th in the second schedule change at Charlotte.
