Daniel Montano hit his third home run of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Grand Junction Rockies lost to the Missoula Osprey 4-2 Monday night at Suplizio Field.

Montano's home run came in the second inning and it got the scoring started, but Buddy Kennedy's RBI single in the third tied the game. Grand Junction did regain the lead in the fifth with the help of Joey Bartosic's bunt single and Cristopher Navarro's double. Will Golsan's ground out brought home Bartosic and moved Navarro to third with one out, but Hunter Stovall lined out to short and Coco Montes was robbed by Osprey right fielder David Sanchez to strand him at third.

Missoula took their first lead of the night in the sixth thanks to an RBIs from Brandon Leyton and Cesar Garcia, and Garcia gave them an insurance run in the eighth, but the Rockies threatened in the ninth. Niko Decolati reached on an error and Montano singled to put the tying run on base, but Zac Almond made a diving catch in foul territory when Javier Guevara tried to bunt them over. Zach Hall flied out to deep right for the second out of the inning, and Navarro struck out looking to end the game.

The loss is the Rockies third in a row and drops them to 10-7 in the second half, 30-25 overall.

Ryan Rolison allowed one run over three innings with three strikeouts in his sixth start of the season. Will Tribucher was charged with two runs, one earned over 2.1 innings.

Deyni Olivero earned his third win, allowing two runs in six frames, while Blake Workman recorded the final nine outs for his first save.

The Rockies and Osprey will play the middle game of their 3-game series Tuesday night at Suplizio Field. The first pitch is set for 6:40.
