MISSOULA, MONT - The Missoula Osprey (29-26, 10-7) had their four-game winning streak snapped Tuesday in Grand Junction (31-25, 11-7) from Suplizio Field in an 11-4 loss to the Rockies.

Missoula put the first run on the board in the top of the second as Brandon Leyton was hit by a pitch and Nick Dalesandro walked. David Sanchez was hit by a pitch as well to load the bases with one out. Alek Thomas grounded into an RBI fielder's choice to give the Osprey a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Grant Lavigne beat the shift to double to left to begin the frame, and came around to score on a passed ball to tie the game 1-1 after two.

The tie was short lived as Missoula jumped back on the board in the third when Buddy Kennedy was walked. Zachery Almond singled while Zack Shannon drove a sacrifice fly to give the Osprey a 2-1 advantage.

Grand Junction took its first lead in the bottom of the sixth when Hunter Stovall led off with a solo homer off reliever Landon Whitson (0-1). After back-to-back walks, Niko Decolati drilled a three-run homer to put the Rockies in front 4-2 after six.

Shannon closed the gap for Missoula with a two-run home run in the eighth as the Rockies lead shrunk to 5-4. It is Shannon's 10th of the season, the most in the Pioneer League.

However, the Rockies put the game out of reach in the bottom of the inning after scoring six runs. Four base hits and three walks paced the way for the Rockies offense to pull ahead 11-4. Ryne Stupple tossed a scoreless ninth to hold on to the win and snap the Osprey four-game winning streak.

Jared Skolnicki (3-0) earns the win after throwing 3.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Shannon led the way for Missoula with three RBIs.

Missoula and Grand Junction complete the three-game series Wednesday at 6:40 pm from Suplizio Field. The Selway Armory Pregame show begins at 6:30 pm on 102.9 ESPN Missoula and the MiLB First Pitch App.
