Gary Gilbert, originally from Albuquerque, NM comes to the Gateway Grizzlies after finishing his college eligibility at Southeast Missouri State University, has had a phenomenal start to his professional career.
The six-foot, one-inch, 200 pound second baseman signed with the Gateway Grizzles on June 15, 2004 and has played in five games. He is currently sporting a batting average of .500 in 14 at bats (7-14).
In 14 at bats, Gilbert has accumulated seven hits, six runs scored, one double, one triple, three homeruns, and seven runs batted in.
The Gateway Grizzlies, who are currently in third place with a 16-13 record in the Frontier League West Division, are the defending league champions.
