The Vancouver Giants start the week in first place in the Western Hockey League's B.C. Division after playing three games in the last three nights.

On Friday, the Giants dropped a 4-2 decision on the road to the Everett Silvertips. Tim Kraus and Wacey Rabbit each scored for Vancouver in a game which saw the Giants out-shoot the Tips 37-26. It was also a game that featured a combined 153 minutes in penalties.

Saturday, the Giants wrapped up a stretch of five straight road games with a 4-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets. J.D. Watt had a pair of goals in the win while goalie Blaine Neufeld made 24 saves in Vancouver's 30th win of the season.

Last night, Watt scored another pair of goals to help the Giants earn a point in a 6-5 shoot-out loss to the visiting Silvertips. Rabbit and Michal Repik each had a goal and assist in the game as Vancouver's shoot-out record fell to 3-5.

Now with an overall record of 30-10-3-5, the Giants have a two-point lead on the Kamloops Blazers for top spot in the B.C. Division. On Tuesday January 23, the Giants are back on home ice against the Tri-City Americans (7:00pm). Then on Friday January 26, the Giants are on the road to take on the Blazers in Kamloops (7:00pm). Vancouver will wrap up the weekend Saturday January 27 when they play host to the Prince Albert Raiders (7:00pm).
