Vancouver Giants News Release
The Vancouver Giants have tied a club record for consecutive wins on home ice as they prepare to play three games this coming week.
Last Friday night, the Giants defeated the Spokane Chiefs 3-0. Tim Kraus and Michal Repik each had a goal and an assist in the victory while netminder Tyson Sexsmith made 19 saves for his second straight shut-out.
On Saturday, Vancouver downed the visiting Saskatoon Blades 2-1. Spencer Machacek and Milan Lucic both capitalized in the third period while goalie Dustin Slade made 21 saves for his 6th win of the year.
The Giants have improved their WHL-leading record to 12-0-1-0, good enough for 25 points. They also have a league best home ice record of 8-0-0-0 as they return to the ice on Wednesday October 25 against the Brandon Wheat Kings (7:00pm). On Friday October 27, the Giants entertain the Kelowna Rockets (7:30pm). Following the game, the team will depart to Spokane where they will face the Chiefs on Saturday October 28 (7:00pm).
