Giants Preseason Roster Set with 32 Players

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants begin their four-game preseason schedule tonight in Port Coquitlam, when they take on the Prince George Cougars at 7 p.m.

Ahead of the game, they have announced their preseason roster, which will consist of 32 players: 18 forwards, 11 defencemen and three goaltenders.

A total of 21 players played in the WHL full-time last season, including 19 returning Giants.

Vancouver returns five of their top six scorers from last season in Samuel Honzek, Jaden Lipinski, Mazden Leslie, Sklyer Bruce and Ty Halaburda. Three 2008-born players remain on the roster, which includes the club's first three 2023 draft selections: Ryan Lin, Brett Olson and Braydon Riggall.

The G-Men kick off the pre-season tonight at Jon Baillie Arena in Port Coquitlam, a game that will be streamed on Sportsnet 650's alternate feed starting at 7 p.m., or whenever the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast ends, whichever comes first.

Vancouver will also be audio streaming their preseason contest at the Ladner Leisure Centre on Sun. Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. against the Victoria Royals. Next weekend, the Giants will finish their preseason with a pair of games, Friday in Kelowna against the Rockets, and then Saturday, Sept. 16 in Maple Ridge against the Kamloops Blazers.

The Vancouver Giants home opener is on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. vs the Victoria Royals. Single game tickets are now on sale and can purchased byclicking here. Season ticket memberships are also still available and start as low as $17 per game.
