Port Coquitlam, BC - Defenceman Max Threinen (06) has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Prince George Cougars.

Threinen, 16, spent the 2022-23 season with the Moose Jaw Warriors U18 program of the SMAAAHL. The Langenburg, SK product collected 9 points in 44 games. The 6'2 blue-liner was also a standout at Cougars Training Camp last week.

"Max had a strong training camp," said Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds. "His progression and development as a young hockey player from last year to now was very evident. He showed poise and calmness on the ice, even when playing against our veterans. We look forward to seeing Max in a Cougars uniform and are thrilled to welcome him and his family to the Cougars."

The Cougars would like to congratulate Max and his family on achieving this milestone. Threinen and the Cougars kick off their pre-season tonight in Port Coquitlam against the Vancouver Giants.
