Vancouver Giants News Release
The Vancouver Giants have acquired 17 year-old forward Phil Gervais from the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a 3rd round pick in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
Gervais (zhur-VAY) is into his second season in the WHL. The 6'0", 179 right winger from St. Paul, Alberta was originally a 3rd round pick of the Broncos in the 2005 bantam draft (52nd overall). He also represented Team Alberta at the 2007 Canada Winter Games alongside Giants forward Lance Bouma.
"Phil is a solid two-way forward that adds to our depth in the right wing position," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "This is a positive move for our club, both for the present and for the future."
Gervais will appear in the Giants line-up Friday night when they host the Calgary Hitmen. Game time is 7:30pm.
