Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants traded goaltender Derek Tendler to the Swift Current Broncos for a 6th round pick in the 2011 WHL bantam draft. Originally acquired in December of 2009 from Regina, the Saskatchewan native was 4-2-1-0 last season with 3.77 GAA and 0.870 SV %. This year he started one game, losing 7-2 in Portland.

"Derek is an unbelievable kid and a great teammate. Unfortunately we need to get our numbers down and to carry three goaltenders would not be fair to any of the guys," said Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Bonner. "Derek needs an opportunity to play on a regular basis and hopefully he will get that with Swift Current."

The Giants are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Kelowna Rockets at the Pacific Coliseum. Game time is 7:30pm. The first 5,000 fans receive a free magnetic schedule.
