Tulsa Oilers News Release
Lotta Games: The Tulsa Oilers will start a stretch of seven games in 10 days this Friday when they return to the BOK Center for the first time since January 2nd. The Oilers host Wichita Friday at 7:35 p.m.; play at Wichita Saturday at 7:05 p.m. in the first hockey game in the new INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita; and then are home again Sunday to take on the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 4:05 p.m. All games can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.
One Down: The Oilers dropped their only game of the week last week, surrendering four power play goals in a 4-3 loss to the Texas Brahmas on Friday. Texas went 4-for-7 on the power play in the game.
Dandy Dan: Right winger Dan Riedel had two goals for the Oilers on Friday, getting the scoring started just 20 seconds into the game. Riedel also scored in the third period just a minute and a half after teammate Adam Bartholomay had scored, which cut the Texas lead to 4-2. But after Riedel's second goal, the Oilers couldn't get the equalizer. Riedel now has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points on the season.
Starry Night: Last Wednesday, right wing T.J. Caig represented the Oilers in the CHL all-star game presented by Laredo Energy, in Laredo. Although the CHL all-stars lost to the South Texas all-stars, 9-4, Caig did have one of the goals for the CHL team. He also had the only penalty of the game.
Other Honor: Also during the all-star banquet, the CHL presented Oilers equipment manager Steve Enlow with the Tom Berry Commitment Cup for his years of service to the CHL.
