Get to the Civic Centre Early on Sunday

Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's are strongly encouraging fans to leave home earlier than usual or find alternate means of transportation for all Sunday afternoon games at the Civic Centre in the month of February.

All three of the 67's Sunday games in February (Feb. 5th vs. Plymouth at 2:00 p.m., Feb. 12th vs. Guelph at 2:00 p.m., and Feb. 19th vs. Kitchener at 3:00 p.m.) coincide with Winterlude festivities in and around Ottawa.

With big crowds expected for these games and with Winterlude festivities in full swing, fans arriving at game time may experience higher volumes of traffic and possible difficulties finding parking at Lansdowne Park.

On Sunday, the Queen Elizabeth Drive will be closed by the NCC for Winterlude beginning at 9:30 a.m. This will cause congestion on Bank St. which will serve as the only entrance to Lansdowne Park. The Driveway will be opened upon the end of the game to allow access to exiting traffic from the game

Civic Centre doors open on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. Fans arriving at the games early to avoid traffic tie ups, can take advantage of Aramark's special $2 menu which includes Soft Ice Cream, Schneider's Hot Dogs, 12oz Pepsi Product, Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Frito Lay Potato Chips, and Aquafina Bottled Water (355ml). Sunday is Family Fun Day at the Civic Centre and there will be face painters and clowns up on the concourse to entertain fans from the time doors open until game time.

Alternative transportation suggestions for fans are to car pool or to use any of OC Transpo's many Park and Ride stations in the Ottawa area. Fans can also use the Sno-Bus, which links Dows Lake to Festival Plaza at Ottawa City Hall.

For more information about Park and Ride locations and the Sno-Bus schedule and fares, fans can call 741-4390 or visit www.octranspo.com.
