Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins will team up with Max & Erma's Restaurants on Monday, Jan. 19 for their annual "Get Fed By the Griffins" benefit for Special Olympics.

Ten Griffins players will serve as celebrity waiters and bartenders from 6:30-9:30 p.m. during this special dinner, which will be held at the Woodland Mall location of Max & Erma's in Kentwood (3191 28th St. SE).

Fans will have the chance to meet their favorite Griffins players, win prizes and bid on Griffins and other hockey memorabilia during silent and live auctions. Included among the auction items will be the special edition T-shirts worn by the Griffins players that evening. All proceeds from the night, including tips collected by the players, will be donated to Special Olympics of Kent and Barry counties.

In a new format change, the entire restaurant will be closed to the general public during this event. Tickets, which include an appetizer, entrée, dessert, non-alcoholic drink and souvenir T-shirt, cost $25 per person and $45 per couple.
