(Reading, PA) - The Reading Phillies 2011 season, presented by Pepsi, thrust into the spotlight on Thursday, July 21, as the club opened an iconic seven-game homestand at America's Classic Ballpark. Now, the homestand, which features some of the best giveaways of the season, continues as the R-Phils open a three-game series with the Altoona Curve on Monday, July 25.
Tickets for all games on the iconic homestand are available, and fans can call 610-370-BALL, log-on to www.readingphillies.com, or stop by the brand-new R-Phils ticket office located at FirstEnergy Stadium to purchase tickets.
On Monday, July 25, the R-Phils are set to welcome the Altoona Curve (Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates) to FirstEnergy Stadium for a three-game series. First pitch of Monday's game is set for 7:05 p.m. and the club is pleased to have a great giveaway, as well as delicious food, great music, and more.
VIST Financial Plaza gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, and fans 21-years-old and older can enjoy Happy Hour (5:00 - 6:00 p.m.), with $1 off all beers, thanks to Miller Lite. All fans can also enjoy great music, as the band "When Karma Was King" will take the Weston Center Winning Smiles Stage for a thrilling pre-game concert (5:00 - 6:30 p.m.).
Also on Monday, the first 2,500 adults will receive a Ryne Sandberg 1980 R-Phils Replica Jersey T-Shirt, courtesy of Sir Speedy Printing West Lawn. Sandberg, a Major League Baseball Hall-of-Famer, hit .310 with 11 home runs and 79 RBIs in 1980 as a member of the R-Phils. The Spokane, Washington native was a 10-time All-Star, a nine-time Gold Glove award-winner, and the 1984 National League MVP. He is currently the manager of the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
