Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, May 10, 2005 – The Arena Football League announced today that Georgia Force wide receiver/linebacker Chris Jackson was named the League's Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second weekly League award that Jackson has earned as a member of the Force having played in just four games with Georgia this year.

JACKSON (6-2, 220, Washington State) played a big role in helping lead Georgia to a 52-40 win over the Tampa Bay Storm last week. The Force victory clinched the club's first-ever Southern Division title, which guarantees a home game in the first round of the playoffs and made the Force the first team to secure a spot in the 2005 AFL playoffs.

Against the Storm, Jackson registered a game-high 12 receptions for 130 yards and three receiving touchdowns. On special teams, he recorded two kickoff returns for 67 yards, including a 56-yard return for a score. Jackson also added a fifth touchdown on the night on a two-yard rush.

This marks the eighth weekly AFL award for Jackson during his six-year career. He has captured six Offensive Player of the Week awards and two Ironman of the Week honors.

The 2005 Southern Division champion Georgia Force (10-4) will host to their final regular season home game when the Dallas Desperados (7-6-1) come to Philips Arena on Saturday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. ET.
