AFL announces week 15 honors

NEW YORK – Nashville Kats wide receiver/defensive back JARRICK HILLERY, Georgia Force wide receiver/linebacker CHRIS JACKSON and Los Angeles Avengers wide receiver/defensive back KEVIN INGRAM have been named U.S. Army Ironman, Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 15 of the 2005 season. The announcement was made live on ESPNews this afternoon.

U.S. ARMY IRONMAN: Hillery (5-10, 200, Tennessee State), helped lead the Nashville Kats (6-7-1) to a 54-33 victory over the Grand Rapids Rampage (2-12). On offense, Hillery caught four receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns and added another two touchdowns and 19 yards on three rushing attempts. Defensively, he recorded one solo tackle and returned two interceptions for seven yards. On special teams, he retuned a missed field goal for 36 yards and returned a kickoff 18 yards. This marks the fourth time Hillery has earned an AFL weekly honor.

OFFENSIVE: Jackson (6-2, 220, Washington State), who is in his sixth season, led the Georgia Force (10-4) over the Tampa Bay Storm (8-6), in Sunday's 52-40 win at Philips Arena. The Force became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2005 playoffs. Jackson, an Offensive Player of the Year candidate, grabbed 12 receptions for 130 yards and three touchdowns. He returned two kickoffs for 67 yards, including a 56-yard return for a score. He also rushed two yards for fifth touchdown. The victory by the Force clinched the Southern Division title, which guarantees a home game in the first round of the playoffs. This marks the eighth time that the former Cougar has earned an AFL weekly honor.

ADT DEFENSIVE: Ingram (6-0, 195, West Chester), who is in his fifth season, led the Los Angeles Avengers (9-5) to a 54-42 win over the San Jose SaberCats (8-6) in Saturday's Western Division matchup at HP Pavilion. Ingram recorded five solo tackles, two assists, one forced and one fumble recovery. He also made three interceptions, returning one seven yards for a touchdown with 31 seconds remaining in the game to seal the win for the Avengers. This marks the fourth time that the All-Arena performer has earned an AFL weekly honor.

U.S. Army Ironman of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Randy Gatewood, Austin's Kevin Nickerson, Colorado's Willis Marshall, Georgia's Chris Jackson, Las Vegas' T.J. Hill, Los Angeles' Kevin Ingram and New York's Chris Anthony.

Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Sherdrick Bonner, Austin's John Fitzgerald, Colorado's John Dutton, Georgia's Troy Bergeron, Las Vegas' Marcus Nash, Los Angeles' Tony Locke, Nashville's Leon Murray and New York's Aaron Garcia.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Clarence Lawson, Austin's Dane Krager, Colorado's Rashad Floyd, Georgia's Ricky Parker, Las Vagas' Cornelius Bonner, Los Angeles' Aaron McConnell and New York's William Holder.
