February 19, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- The Georgia Force participated in two practices today, marking the 13th and 14th of training camp.
Georgia opened practice with a special teams session before moving into one-on-ones and position drills. The offense seemed to have the upper hand in the morning practice. The wide receivers were able to win most of their battles against the defensive backs and the offensive line was able to protect the quarterback from the pass rush. The offensive line unit of, Ben Nowland, James Clark, Shane Grice and Corey Davis have been performing consistently throughout training camp.
In the afternoon, the defense was able to grab back some of the momentum the offense gained in the morning. DBs Cam Newton, Willie Gary and Stephen Cason all tallied pass break ups and the pass rush of DLs Jermaine Smith, Ernest Allen and R-Kal Truluck was able to throw the offenses' rhythm off. Despite the effort of the defense, WR Brent Holmes highlighted practice with a leaping catch over the wall in the endzone to cap off the day.
The Force will kickoff the 2008 season when they host the Dallas Desperados in the season opener on Saturday, March 1, at The Arena at Gwinnett Center, on ABC.
