Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - Poor weather conditions and airplane mechanical failures forced the Grand Rapids Rampage to cancel their scheduled trip to Dallas yesterday. The team, which had planned on scrimmaging against the Desperados and New Orleans VooDoo today and tomorrow (Feb. 20), will now travel to Columbus, Ohio, to practice with the Destroyers on Thursday (Feb. 21).

"We are very disappointed to miss the opportunity to go against Dallas and New Orleans, as we feel the competition level there would have been high," said Steve Thonn, Rampage head coach and director of football operations. "Being able to practice with Columbus still gives us the opportunity to measure our players against a top team, however."

Grand Rapids' training camp officially comes to a close on Saturday (Feb. 23). The Rampage's 2008 season kicks off on March 10, when the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats visit Van Andel Arena.
