Georgia Force Training Camp Report
February 18, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- Following a day off on Sunday, the Force returned to the field today to begin their second and final week of training camp.
For the first time during training camp, the team worked on PATs and field goals. K Carlos Martinez connected on all but one PAT and then split the uprights from 35 yards out to end the session. Both the offense and defense seemed to pick up the tempo following a day off. The stable of quarterbacks, led by Chris Greisen, were accurate on the majority of their throws during the morning practice and the receivers were able to make some nice catches. DBs Willie Gary, David Crocker, Stephen Cason and Cam Newton all recorded pass breakups throughout the period.
The second practice of the day was one of the most competitive practices of training camp. The quarterbacks and receivers seemed to be on the same page most of the practice with rookie WR Chris Baker catching several touchdowns. The defense performed well in the afternoon session with several plays being made by the defensive front and the defensive backs. The practice was capped off with a touchdown pass from QB Ben Dougherty to rookie WR Antwone Savage.
