Georgia Force Training Camp Report

February 21, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release

FIRST PRACTICE: The Georgia Force and New Orleans VooDoo stepped on the practice field at 8:30 a.m. to begin their first combined workout of the day. The two teams matched-up in one-on-one and three-on-three drills, but did not go head-to-head during the team session. DB Hamin Milligan was effective in the one-on-one period as he deflected two passes that would have been completed if he didn't make the play. On the first play of the three-on-three portion of practice, QB Chris Greisen found WR Derek Lee racing down the sideline past former Force DB Chris Brown for a 40-yard touchdown. Later, WR Brent Holmes hauled in a pass from QB James MacPherson for a touchdown.

SECOND PRACTICE: The second practice started a little rough for Georgia's offense during team drills, as the first-team was held out of the endzone on their series. Greisen was sent back in with the second group and the team seemed to pick up momentum. Greisen threw a screen pass to FB Matt Huebner who carried two defenders in for the score, and a couple of plays later Greisen connected with Holmes for a touchdown. WR Kevin McKenzie and Greisen added one rushing touchdown each before the period ended. QB Ryan Vena found WR Matt Thomas in the endzone and MacPherson connected with Holmes to finish the practice on a high note.

Tomorrow, the Force will participate in a scrimmage with the New Orleans VooDoo at their Flowery Branch practice facility beginning at 3 p.m.
