ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2007) -- Greg Jefferson, a former standout with the Philadelphia Eagles who was making a football comeback attempt after a six-year layoff, was released by the Orlando Predators on Tuesday.

Jefferson played in 57 career games for the Eagles from 1995-2000, recording 192 tackles with 13.5 quarterback sacks. He last went to camp with the Eagles in 2001.

A former standout at the University of Central Florida, Jefferson returned to Orlando and has been teaching school in the Orange County School Systems. He was offered a contract with the Predators after attending an open tryout in December.

The transaction left the Predators with 28 players in camp. The team will conduct its normal practice on Thursday and Friday, before concluding training camp on Saturday at the team's annual Season Ticket Pick-Up Party at Thunder Field.

Camp Notes: The Predators are expecting upwards of 1,000 fans at their sixth annual Season Ticket Pick-up Party on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Thunder Field...the event will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 noon...Fans will have an opportunity to pickup their season tickets and attend a meet and greet the Predators players, coaches and dance team members...The Predators inflatables, live music, food, sponsor booths, the newest in Predators merchandise and an opportunity to watch the Predators are all part of the festivities.
