Georgia Force Training Camp Report

February 12, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release

MORNING PRACTICE: During three-on-three drills the offense seemed to find a rhythm that carried over to team period. All of the quarterbacks were able to have success during the team session of practice, despite tight coverage by the secondary and a strong pass rush by the linebackers and defensive line. Rookie QB James MacPherson connected with WR Derek Lee for the offense's first touchdown of the day. For the first time during training camp, QB Chris Greisen found WR Chris Jackson in the endzone during team drills. The solid performance continued by the offense when FB Antionne Scott carried the ball three yards for the score late in the team session. On defense, rookie DL Willie Blade provided a consistent pass rush throughout all the drills and LB Umar Muhammad and rookie DB Troy Graham made some plays in run support.

AFTERNOON PRACTICE: Georgia put together another solid performance during the afternoon session. The offense continued to improve as the first string offense scored two times on six plays during team drills. Greisen connected with WR Kevin McKenzie for a long touchdown pass early in the period, and later Greisen faked the handoff and ran for the score from three yards out. The practice finished strong with both sides of the ball making plays before the horn sounded to end practice.

"I am very pleased with the way the team has been practicing the last couple of days," head coach Doug Plank commented. "This is a good group of guys we have in here and I am looking forward to seeing how they progress over the next couple of weeks."

Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, the Force will host combined workouts with the Nashville Kats at their Flowery Branch practice facility. Additional information pertaining to the workout will be released tomorrow.
