Georgia Force Prepare for Playoffs

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Georgia Force announced today that the team was awarded WR/DB Rober' Freeman off waivers from Grand Rapids. In addition, Georgia activated FB/LB Robert Thomas from Injured Reserve, waived DS Earthwind Moreland and placed K Keith Gispert on Injured Reserve.

Freeman, in his second AFL season, spent time with the Nashville Kats this season before being waived and claimed by the Grand Rapids Rampage. In 13 games this year with the Kats, he posted 42.5 tackles, seven pass defenses, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries this season. In 2005, with the Nashville Kats, Freeman registered 19 tackles, one pass defense and one forced fumble in five games.

Thomas recorded 107 yards rushing on 34 attempts and seven touchdowns prior to missing the last three games due to an illness. His rushing yards, attempts and touchdowns were team-highs for the regular season. Thomas is the all-time leading rusher in franchise history with 480 yards in three seasons.

In three games with the Force, Moreland tallied 9.5 tackles in his first AFL season.

The Force will play the New York Dragons on Sunday, May 21, at 3:00 p.m., in Nassau Coliseum. Georgia finished the regular season 8-8 and New York finished 10-6.
