Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados begin their championship run with a visit to Children's Medical Center Dallas on Tuesday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m.. Offensive Specialist Terrill Shaw, Offensive/Defensive Linemen Terrance Dotsy and Anthony Foli, and Wide Receiver/Defensive Backs Chris Brown and Jacoby Shepherd along with members of the Dallas Desperados Dance Team are scheduled to drop in on the hospital's young patients and lift their spirits through a variety of activities.

During past visits, the players stopped by the hospital's playrooms to sign autographs, distributed stickers, participated in arts-and-crafts projects and engaged the children in conversation. The visits are part of the Desperados Impact Player Program, which strives to be a positive influence in the lives of Dallas-area children. Initiated by Desperados head coach Will McClay in 2003, the Impact Player Program continues to spread positive influence and goodwill throughout Dallas/Ft. Worth.

"We welcome the opportunity to give back to the community that continues to support us," said McClay. "We acknowledge that the Desperados have a unique role to make a difference and we are devoted to working with a variety of charities, schools and civic groups in order to make a positive impact across the Metroplex."

Children's Medical Center Dallas is one of the largest pediatric providers in the nation and is ranked one of the top 25 pediatric hospitals in the country by U.S.News and World Report. Children's is the only academic hospital in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18, and is the only pediatric hospital in the Southwest with a designated Level I trauma center.
