Pensacola Pelicans News Release

The Pensacola Pelicans announced today that Pensacola News Journal's (PNJ) Sports Editor George Moore, III will be the featured guest on the weekly Pelicans Coaches Show. The show airs LIVE Saturday, August 12 at New York Nick's in downtown Pensacola from noon to 1 p.m. on AM1620.

Moore graduated from the University of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in Print Journalism in 2001. After starting in the PNJ Sports Department as a clerk in 1995, Moore recently was promoted to Sports Editor in April. As editor, Moore oversees the department, plans what events get coverage, assigns writers to the events, and determines what stories make the final print in the sports section each day.

A native of Sacramento, California, Moore spent time in Brookings, South Dakota in 1996 at South Dakota State University working for the University paper. A year later, Moore was back in California working at the Fresno Bee.

Hosts Paul Chestnutt and Eric Lewitke will also be joined by Pelicans Manager Kash Beauchamp to discuss his team and their current seven-game road trip at Coastal Bend and El Paso. After the seven day trip out West, the Pelicans return home for the second to last home stand of the regular season. On Monday, August 14, the Coastal Bend Aviators come to Pelican Park for the first of a three-game series.
