Shreveport 6, Coastal Bend 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Shreveport starting pitcher Erik Wikstrom pitched a sensational game in beating Coastal Bend in game one of the doubleheader. Wikstrom pitched a complete game, allowing only an earned run on three hits with two strikeouts. The win for Wikstrom is his 10th of the season and puts him into a tie for second place with Justin Lord of St. Paul for most wins. Wikstrom got help from his offense led by DH Chad Gambill who went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, including his ninth home run of the season. 1B Bryon Smith was 1-for-3 and drove in the Aviators' only run of the game.

Shreveport 4, Coastal Bend 0 (Game 2- 7 Innings)

Shreveport got its second complete game of the night, this time from Josh Neitz, as the Sports sweep the doubleheader from Coastal Bend. These two wins give Shreveport sole possession of second place in the South Division. Neitz allowed only four hits in the game and struck out seven to pickup his third win of the season. SS Enohel Polanco went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Sports with a run scored. DH Chad Gambill had a 2-for-3 outing as well and went a combined 3-for-6 in the doubleheader. CF Ryan Ruiz and LF Bryan Fryer got three of the four hits for Coastal Bend in this contest.

St. Paul 6, Sioux City 2

St. Paul gets a terrific outing from Mike Meyer in leading the Saints to a big win over Sioux City. Meyer goes seven strong innings giving up only two runs, both earned, on seven hits with a strikeout. 1B Brian Buchanan was the leader at the plate for the Saints with a 1-for-2 effort with two runs scored and two RBI. Buchanan also hit his ninth home run of the season as well. For Sioux City, LF Jorge Moreno hit his 18th home run of the season in a 2-for-4 night. That home run puts him into a first place tie with St. Joe's Wil Quintana. With the win, St. Paul keeps in firm control of first place for the North Division Wild Card.

Fort Worth 5, Sioux Falls 2

Fort Worth hammered out 11 hits in the game en route to victory over the Canaries. Cats' C Justin Hatcher had a 4-for-5 outing with two runs scored and an RBI while 2B Kip Harkrider went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Fort Worth starter Kevin Hull gets the win, his seventh, allowing an earned run on four hits with five punchouts. Cats' closer Steve Wilkerson notches his 15th save of the year, which places him into a tie for second in saves with Jamie Tricoglou of St. Joe. The victory for Fort Worth gives them a four-game cushion over Shreveport for first place in the South Division.
