Genomes Sign Former MLB Home Run Champion & MLB Reliever
July 1, 2022 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Kentucky Wild Health Genomes News Release
LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY -- The Wild Health Genomes announced today that they have agreed to terms with former MLB star Khris Davis and former MLB reliever Gabriel Moya.
Davis began his Major League career with the Milwaukee Brewers but is most widely known for his time with the Oakland Athletics. During his 5-year stint with the A's Davis posted stand-out numbers including three seasons where he collected over 100 RBIs and a Major League best 48 HRs in 2018.
Moya spent parts of two seasons in the big leagues for the Minnesota Twins in 2017 and 2018. The LHP will help fill the void of the Genomes closer Diego Moreno whose contract was purchased by the Generales de Durango of the LMB (Mexico). Moya is no stranger to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball as he posted a 2.36 ERA and 41 Ks with the Lancaster Barnstormers in 2021.
The Genomes add Davis and Moya as the Atlantic League season nears the half-way point. "Our organization is beyond excited with the addition of such high caliber players to an already talented Genomes roster. As we gear up for the second half of our 2022 campaign, we're confident Khris and Gabriel will help in our efforts to secure a spot in this year's playoffs," said Vice President of Baseball Operations.
The Genomes will be back in action at Wild Health Field when they face off against the Legends in a double-header on the 4th of July with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 PM. Wild Health Field will be hosting Lexington's Biggest 4th of July Firework Show after the conclusion of game two. Tickets are on sale now at LexingtonLegends.com.
