Player Notes: Jan Eriksson leads the Generals in scoring with two points in two games on one goal and one assist...Jason Selleke recorded the first game winning goal of the season with a power play goal on Saturday at Port Huron...Selleke also leads the team in penalty minutes with 22 PIM...Steve Roberts leads the Generals with 11 shots on goals...Bryan Worosz is second in the UHL in Goals Against Average at 1.00 and Save Percentage at .964...Jason Muzzatti is fifth in the UHL with a 2.03 GAA and eighth in save percentage at .917.

Team Notes: The Generals have scored three goals this season, all on the power play...The Generals have the third best power play at 17.65% and the second best penalty kill at 94.12%...The Generals three power play goals for is third best in the league and the one power play goal against is tied for second best...The Generals have gine up the fewest shots against per game at 26.00.

GENERALS WEEK IN REVIEW October 9-October 15

Friday, October 13 Port Huron 2 @ Flint 1

The Generals began the 2006-07 season with a loss at home against the Port Huron Flags. Jan Jas scored the first goal of the season at 1:43 of the first period to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. The power play goal was assisted by Jan Eriksson and Gerard Miller. Port Huron tied the game 1-1 with a power play goal at 5:29 by Steve Hildenbrand. The game remained 1-1 until 13:50 of the third period when Port Huron scored to take a 2-1 lead. Jeremy Tucker scored the goal that gave the Flags the win. Jason Muzzatti made 22 saves on 24 shots in the loss. Dustin Traylen made 26 saves on 27 shots for the win.

Saturday, October 14 Flint 2 @ Port Huron 1

Flint traveled to Port Huron for its first road game of the season and looked to even their record at 1-1-0 after losing to the Flags the night before. Port Huron outshot the Generals 9-6 in the first period but the period ended in a scoreless tie. Jan Eriksson scored his first professional goal in North America at 11:03 of the second period to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. The power play goal was assisted by Steve Roberts. Jason Selleke scored his first goal of the season, a power play goal, at 13:36 to increase the Generals lead to 2-0. David Frawley and Maec Norrington assisted on the Selleke goal. With the Port Huron goaltender pulled for an extra attacker, the Flags scored to get to within one goal at 2-1. Brad Bonello scored from Jeff Cameron and Mark Cadotte at 18:36 of the third period. Bryan Worosz made 27 saves on 28 shots for his first win of the season. Dustin Traylen made 24 saves on 26 shots in the loss.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES October 16-October 22

Friday, October 20 Chicago @ Flint 7:30p.m.

The Generals will play the Chicago Hounds for the first time ever when the Hounds travel to Flint. The Chicago Hounds moved from Richmond after last season. Chicago enters the game having won their only game played this season.

Saturday, October 21 Flint @ Kalamazoo 7:30p.m.

The Generals travel to Kalamazoo for the first time this season. The Wings will be playing their first home game of the season as the defending UHL champions. Kalamazoo is 2-0-0 entering this weekend.

Sunday, October 22 Muskegon @ Flint 4:00p.m.

The Generals and the Fury close the weekend with their first meeting of the season. Muskegon enters the weekend tied for first in the conference at 2-0-0 having outscored their opponents 16-5.

Generals Player of the Week:

The Generals Player of the Week is Jan Eriksson. Eriksson Had an assist in a 2-1 loss on Friday against Port Huron. He scored his first goal of the season the following night in Port Huron.

Generals Goaltender of the Week:

The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Bryan Worosz. Worosz made 27 saves on 28 shots to earn his first win of the season on Saturday in Port Huron. The only goal against him came at 18:36 of the third period with the Port Huron goaltender pulled for an extra attacker.
