Player Notes: Shawn Snider is on a three game point scoring streak and had registered a point in six of his seven games with Flint...Jan Jas is on a team high eight game point scoring streak including seven in a row since coming off the IR...Jason Selleke leads the Generals with 14 goals...Terry Marchant leads the Generals with 32 points...Jeff Zehr, Marchant, Mike Kinnie and Bobby Reynolds are all on a two game point scoring streak.

Team Notes: The Generals lead the league with 43 games played this season...The Generals lead the league with 64 power play goals...The Generals are second in the league on the power play at 19.3% and first in road power play at 19.0%...The Generals best goal differential is in the second period where they outscore the opposition 50-47.

GENERALS WEEK IN REVIEW January 8 - January 14

Wednesday, January 10 Flint 3 @ Muskegon 4 SO

The Generals and the Fury played 40 minutes of hockey without either team getting on the scoreboard. Mike Kinnie gave the Generals a 1-0 lead with a goal at 3:30 of the third period. Muskegon tied the game 1-1 at 5:29. The Generals reclaimed the lead 2-1 on a Jason Selleke goal at 8:13. The Fury scored twice, at 14:55 and 16:59, to take a 3-2 lead. Kinnie scored his second goal of the game, a power play goal, at 19:26 to tie the game 3-3. The shootout went seven rounds with the only goal being scored by Muskegon to win the game 4-3. Jason Muzzatti made 21 saves on 24 shots during the game and six saves in seven shots in the shootout in the loss.

Friday, January 12 Flint 2 @ Elmira 1

Shawn Snider scored a shorthanded goal at 11:10 of the second period to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. The Jackals tied the game 1-1 with a power play goal at 13:13. The Generals reclaimed the lead at 2-1 on a Jan Jas goal at 10:14 of the third period. Bryan Worosz made 35 saves on 36 shots for the win.

Saturday, January 13 Flint 4 @ Elmira 6

Terry Marchant gave Flint a 1-0 lead at 7:22 of the first period. The Jackals tied the game with a power play goal at 9:35 and took a 2-1 lead at 11:49. Before the first period ended the Generals tied the game on a David Frawley goal at 13:19. Flint took a 3-2 lead on a Jeff Zehr power play goal at 7:36 of the second period. The Jackals scored three straight second period goals, the last on the power play, to lead 5-3 at the end of the second period. Bobby Reynolds got the Generals back to within one goal at 4:04 of the third period. Elmira ended the scoring at 8:50 for the 6-4 win. Bryan Worosz made 29 saves on 35 shots in the loss.

Sunday, January 14 Flint 5 @ Elmira 2

The Jackals and the Generals traded first period power play goals. Elmira went up 1-0 at 6:06 and the Flint tied the game at 16:21 on a Mike Kinnie goal. The Generals scored three second period goals to take a 4-1 lead. Bobby Reynolds scored at 5:38 to give Flint a 2-1 lead. Terry Marchant scored a power play goal at 12:53 and Jason Selleke added another power play goal at 14:03. Elmira got back to within two with a goal at 17:40 of the third period. Reynolds added an empty net goal at 19:51 to end the scoring. Bryan Worosz made 47 saves on 49 shots for the win.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES January 15 - January 21

Wednesday, January 17 UHL All-Star Game @ Fort Wayne 7:00p.m.

The Western Conference will host the Eastern Conference in the UHL All-Star Classic from Fort Wayne, IN. The Generals will be represented by forward Jeff Zehr and defenseman Gerard Miller.

Friday, January 19 Port Huron @ Flint 7:30p.m.

This will be the seventh game of the season between the Generals and the Flags. The Generals are 4-2-0 against the Flags this season, 2-1-0 in Flint. There will be four more games against Port Huron after this game.

Saturday, January 20 Flint @ Muskegon 7:30p.m.

This game in Muskegon will be the Generals final road game in the month of January. This will be the eighth game of the season between the Generals and the Fury. The Generals are 1-5-1 against the Fury, 1-2-1 in Muskegon. The Generals and the Fury will play three more times after this game.

Sunday, January 21 Kalamazoo @ Flint 4:00p.m.

The Generals end the weekend at home against the Wings. It will be the sixth game of the season between the two teams. The Generals are 2-4-0 against the Wings, 0-2-0 in Flint. The Generals and the Wings will play two more times this season, both games in Flint.

Generals Player of the Week:

The Generals Player of the Week is Terry Marchant. Marchant had two goals and five assists for seven points in four games last week. He also scored the game winning goal on Sunday and played at a +2 for the week.

Generals Goaltender of the Week:

The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Bryann Worosz. Worosz went 2-1-0 last week, all three games on the road against Elmira. Worosz made 111 saves on 120 shots in the three games for a .925 save percentage. His goals against average for the week was 3.00.
