JACKSON GENERALS RECAP: - The Generals were shutout on five hits Tuesday night by the Mississippi Braves, losing their second straight at Pringles Park, 6-0. Moises Hernandez did an admirable job in a spot start, but suffered the loss after surrendering two runs four hits in four innings. Hernandez walked two and struck out four in just his second start of the season. Avilan held the Generals in check and snapped a two-game losing skid on the mound to record the victory for the M-Braves. A night after the Generals pounded out 16 hits, they were held to just five on Tuesday and no Generals produced a multi-hit game.

TODAY IN BASEBALL HISTORY: 1987 - Twins pitcher Joe Niekro is caught with a file on the mound and is ejected during Minnesota's 11-3 win over the Angels.
