LAST GAME: Montgomery, Ala. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, homered their way past the Montgomery Biscuits on Friday, gaining a series lead with a 3-2 victory at Riverwalk Stadium. The victory for Jackson (26-20) draws them within 2.5 games of Montgomery (29-18), who lost for just the 7th time in 23 home games this season. Full Recap: JacksonGeneralsBaseball.com

TODAY'S PITCHING MATCHUP: A 2018 Southern League Midseason All-Star, right-hander Justin Donatella is 2-0 in his first three appearances at Double-A this year. His last outing featured seven innings and just one run allowed against Tennessee last Sunday. Montgomery will counter with left-hander Kenny Rosenberg, who sports a 3-1 record and a 1.88 ERA. Six of Rosenberg's nine appearances have been starts: he did not allow an earned run as a starter until his most recent outing at Jacksonville, where he lasted only five innings.

RYAN RISING: With home runs in back to back games against Montgomery, including a lead-off blast on May 24, Ryan Grotjohn is getting more comfortable at Double-A. The former Cal-State Bakersfield shortstop is batting .279 against right-handed pitching. He's made only one error this season in 136.2 innings with Jackson, playing both corner outfield spots as well as second base.
