LAST GAME: Mobile, Ala. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, punched back after two disappointing losses to the Mobile BayBears, winning 9-1 on Sunday at Hank Aaron Stadium. Generals right-hander Bo Takahashi (5-3, 3.19 ERA) led the charge, forcing a rubber game between Jackson (41-33) and Mobile (29-43) on Monday evening.

TODAY'S PITCHING MATCHUP: Right-hander Riley Smith will throw for the first time since starting last week's Southern League All-Star Game at Biloxi and tossing a scoreless inning. Smith held the lowest ERA among right-handers through the First Half (1.75), racking seven quality starts. His counterpart, Zack Kelly, has started three times for Mobile this year, tossing 12.0 IP in those outings while allowing a pair of earned runs.

JAZZ TRYING TO LEAVE FUNK BEHIND: Shortstop Jazz Chisholm whacked a season-high 3 hits on June 23 at Mobile, his third multi-hit game of the Second Half. In 59 First Half Games, Chisholm only registered 7 multi-hit games while batting a humbling .173. If Chisholm can put up a Second Half that more closely resembles his career batting average of .251, there's no telling what the ceiling will be for Jackson's offense.
