
Generals Dominate Battle on Warrior's Night

Victoria, TX- Nolan Trabanino threw seven innings of one-run baseball and Donivan Lopez went four for five and scored three runs as the Generals completed the two-game sweep of the Texas Marshals, winning 18-1.
The Generals scored the first run of the ball game in the bottom of the first. Darien Simms came home on a wild pitch from Marshals pitcher Seth Jordan.
The Generals took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Lopez scored on an error from the Marshals catcher. Johnathan Reyes also scored in the third, crossing the plate on a single from Simms.
The Generals hot offense continued in the fourth inning. Travis Jones scored on a single from Keith Funk. Funk and Lopez both scored on an error by the Marshals second baseman. Reyes and Simms were brought home by a double from Romeo Cortina.
Jordan Garcia took the mound from Seth Jordan in the sixth for the Marshals. Jordan allowed eight runs on nine hits in his five innings of work.
Caden Williams scored the Generals ninth run in the sixth, scoring on a 2-out double from Jacob Spring.
The Marshals scored their first run of the ball game in the seventh inning. Tucker Davison scored on a single from Kyle Casserly.
The Generals made it a 10-1 ball game in the bottom of the seventh when Lopez came home on an RBI ground out from Reyes. Simms also came around to score on a wild pitch and Cortina scored on a double from Williams. Williams and Goss scored on a double from Spring. Jones plated Spring with a single into right field.
Trabanino came out of the game in the eighth after seven solid innings of work. Trabanino allowed just one run on four hits and struck out six Marshals batters before Grayson Pratt took his place on the mound.
Garcia pitched just one and a third innings before being replaced by Connor McMann on the mound for the Marshals. Garcia allowed one run on three hits.
Cortina scored the Generals sixteenth run of the night, scoring on an error by the Marshals third baseman. Goss and Williams also scored on a two out double from Spring.
Kyle Craft came in to finish the ballgame from the Generals. Pratt pitched one scoreless inning allowing just one hit.
Trabanino earned the win for the Generals moving his record to 3-0 on the season. Jordan took home the loss for the Marshals.
The Generals are back in action tomorrow and Sunday night as they will play a two game series against the East Texas Pump Jacks. Tomorrow night continues Warrior's Weekend at Riverside Stadium, with the player's patriotic-themed jerseys being auctioned off after the game.
