FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League get their first victory of the season in a 3-0 shutout over the Central Division rival Kalamazoo Wings at Perani Arena on Friday night. Goaltender Marco Emond stopped all 23 shots he faced for his first victory of the season.
All the scoring was in the first period. Defenseman J. P. Morin (1) scored the game-winning goal at 7:48 on a screen shot that trickled past Wings' goaltender Joel Martin. Flint scored two great power play goals on redirections as left-winger Kris Waltze (2) connected at 13:37 and Player/Assistant Coach, Bobby Reynolds (1) at 17:42.
Flint (1-1-1, 3 pts.) wraps up weekend action with a game in Fort Wayne on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. (Radio, WFNT-AM 1470). The Generals return home to host the Port Huron Beacons on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 7:35 p.m.
