Port Huron Flags News Release

PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) open their home schedule tonight vs. the Fort Wayne Komets.

The Beacons begin their home schedule against the Komets at 7:05 p.m. The Komets currently sit in second place in the Western Division with 3 pts. Kansas City and Rockford both have 4 pts.

The Beacons sit in a tie for second place with Kalamazoo with 2 pts each. After splitting the first two games of the season with the Richmond RiverDogs, the Beacons showed what youth can do for a team. The Beacons dressed three veterans on last weekends trip to Richmond and still came away with 2 pts.

The Komets vs. Beacons also brings an interesting sub plot to the mix. David Beauregard returns to Port Huron after playing the past two seasons with the Komets. This will be his first game of the season and first against his former team. The Beacons made the trade with the Komets late in the summer to bring back the fan favorite.

This Friday the Beacons will be giving away free magnetic schedules to the first 2,500 fans. Everyone who enters McMorran Arena will receive the magnetic schedule to follow the Beacons both home and away. This giveaway item was sponsored by Mc'Donalds.

The Coaches show returns to the Brass Rail for another season. Every Monday night from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Come join host, Dennis Stuckey and Head Coach Rick Adduono, along with different Beacon players each Monday Night throughout the season. Of course if you can't make it down to the Brass Rail you can always listen to the show on AM 1450 and AM 1590 along with every Beacons Home and Road game. Catch the first edition Monday October 18th for a recap of the weekend's action at Richmond. As always Season Tickets are on SALE for all of our home games. Don't forget to ask about our other packages. The 20 game pack, Michigan pack, Holiday Games pack, Weekender pack and the Weekday Sampler. Call the Beacons at 810-989-9701 for more information.
