Generals Add UHV Catcher and Ranger Pitcher to Roster

With less than two weeks remaining in the 2013 Texas Collegiate League regular season, the Victoria Generals have added catcher Brandon Bohanon from the University of Houston - Victoria and right-handed pitcher Argenis Angulo from Ranger College to the active roster to help the team finish the summer season.

Bohanon recently completed his junior season at UHV where he was named to the A.I.I. All-Conference Second Team. Bohanon hit .313 on the season with three doubles, two triples, and a team-leading four home runs. Bohanon also drove in 20 runs and scored nine times.

Angulo made his first appearance of the season for the Generals in game two of Sunday night's double header against the Texas Marshals. Angulo did not allow a hit and struck out one batter in his one inning of work.

Angulo, a native of Araure, Venezuela, was a freshman at Ranger this past spring. Angulo appeared in 12 games and recorded 14 strikeouts in 33.2 innings on the season.

The Generals will take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters tonight and Wednesday night in Lafayette, Louisiana in a two-game series. The Generals return home on Thursday to host the Texas Marshals in a two-game series at Riverside Stadium.

Thursday night is Hog Night presented by Harley Davidson of Victoria. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a Generals bandanna courtesy of Harley Davidson. All fans that ride their motorcycle to the game on Thursday will receive free admission. It will also be Thirsty Thursday presented by Beef ‘O' Brady's with $1 draft beer all game long on the party deck.

Friday night is Faith & Family Night presented by Klean Corp International. Rally towels will be given away to the first 500 fans in attendance courtesy of the Sportsman's Church. There will be a pregame concert by Clay Crockett & the Shotgun Riders starting at 5:30. Game time is 7:05pm.

Playoff tickets for the Generals opening round game are on sale now. The Generals will host a home playoff game on Saturday, August 10.
